Step by Step Guide

Backpacks are very important for all of us. From going to school or college to carrying our stuff or gear when going on a trip, we use backpacks for a lot of reasons. Yet, we sometimes get confused when we try to draw them. That is because we never looked into its structure that properly. But even so, you can still draw a backpack with absolute ease. Wondering how? Let me show you.

To draw a backpack, we start with the front part and slowly make our way to the back. That way, we can cover most of its features in the first few steps, and then add the other details.

Start by drawing the main body

Draw a shape somewhat like the upper portion of your thumb.

Add a pocket

Draw an eye-like shape in the middle. This will act as the front pocket.

Double the outline

Draw a couple of more outlines to act as the different compartments of the bag.

Draw the handle

Draw an ‘M’ shaped handle on top of the bag.

Draw two handles for carrying it

Two curves are to be drawn on both sides of the bag. These are the straps to carry the bag on your shoulders.

Time to add a darker tone

Use a dark pencil to add more sharpness to the drawing.

Add a bit of cuteness

Draw a pair of eyes on the top side of the bad. Add a lock to the front pocket as well.

Give the bad a wide smile

Under the eyes, draw a wide smile. Two simple curves, one on top of the other, should do the trick.

Use a dark pencil to add the darker tone to your drawing.
