Introduction

I’ve always fancied painting portraits of deer, but failed to do so as I didn’t know where to start. Fortunately, I got my hands on a few tutorials on how to paint a deer, and managed to get started. Studying these tutorials helped me a lot, and I made good progress with my deer paintings. And if they could help me out, I’m sure you too will find some benefit while studying these tutorials.

To paint a deer, you need to ensure three things. First, you need to decide on a stance or posture for the deer. Next, you should focus on the horns, and make sure they’re symmetrical. Finally, you should add in the necessary details and lighting effects as per necessity.
