Painting a foggy forest is not so difficult – or at least that’s what I thought. Once I started working on my foggy forest painting, I realized that just by applying a layer of mist or fog over my typical forest painting won’t suffice. I needed to do a lot more than that, but I didn’t exactly know what it was. I then left my workstation, and began studying tutorials on how to paint such foggy forests. In order to paint a foggy forest, you first use a forest painting as the base, and paint a layer of fog over it. This can be achieved in two ways. You can either have a thin layer of fog, or a thick one. Make sure the base painting has dried properly before you start painting the fog. In many cases, you can even use a forest silhouette as the backdrop, and paint the fog over it.
