How To Paint Bubbles

10 Amazing (and Easy!) Tutorials

Introduction

For me, painting bubbles is a way to work on some of my art related skills including shading, blending, lighting effects, and so on. During my early painting days, however, I wasn’t that good with bubbles. But all that changed after I started to hone my bubble painting skills by watching tutorials on YouTube. Those videos really helped me a lot, and I see no reason as to why they can’t do the same for you. And now, after all this time, I paint bubbles to try out new coloring and shading techniques.

To paint bubbles, you first draw the outline, and then decide on an imaginary light source. Then, with respect to the light source, you paint your bubbles, and add necessary shades to it. Ensure the lighting effects with these shades and blends. Finally, you add shadows to your bubbles, if you’re willing to make them look realistic, or give them a 3D appeal.

Sparkling Bubbles on Black Canvas

Sparkling Bubbles on Black Canvas

In this video tutorial, you’ll learn how you can paint sparkling bubbles using acrylic paints on a black canvas. The tutorial is quite detailed. You’ll have no difficulty in understanding it. The black canvas really helps to give the bubbles a 3D appeal. All you need to take care of is to color the bubbles in such a way that it seems like they’re reflecting light. It’s not that difficult to do, but will need a bit of attention to detail.

Bubbles with a Touch of Blue

Bubbles with a Touch of Blue

This painting is quite similar to the one we’ve just seen. It uses acrylic paints on a black canvas, shows the reflection of light on the bubbles’ surfaces, and looks quite realistic with a 3D appeal. The only difference worth noting here is the use of the color blue. It’s nothing significant, but for some reason, I find the use of this color to be quite soothing. Other than that, the rest of the painting is as it was in the previous case.

Realistic Bubble Painting

Realistic Bubble Painting

The idea behind painting realistic bubbles is quite simple. There should be a light falling on the bubbles, and the refraction of that light will lead to the dispersal of colors on the bubbles’ surfaces. Although the concept is quite easy to grasp, painting it gets difficult. Follow this tutorial to get an idea as to how you need to approach a realistic bubble painting.

Easiest Way to Paint Bubbles

Easiest Way to Paint Bubbles

Bubbles are basically circles. So, the easiest way to paint bubbles would be to find circular cups of a variety of sizes, dip their circular ends in paint, and then press those ends onto the canvas. There you go, you’ve got yourselves some bubbles. Isn’t it the easiest painting you’ve ever done? Make sure to add a bit of detail to your work with the brush afterwards.

You don’t really have to spend too much time coloring the bubbles. All you need to take care of is the outline and the lighting. The rest will take care of itself once you’ve completed the artwork.

It’s a joy to watch little Alyssa paint. She’s, without a doubt, one of the most adorable, and talented kid artists on YouTube. This time, we get to see Alyssa work her magic on some bubbles. She does a wonderful job in painting the bubbles, as well as explaining her procedure. Alyssa’s approach with watercolors is something I admire, given that most people would’ve opted for acrylics instead.

Beautiful Bubbles Outdoors

Beautiful Bubbles Outdoors

Up until now, all the paintings we’ve dealt with had a simple and plain background. This painting, on the other hand, has a different, and more scenic background in it. As you look through the bubble, you’ll see a blurred image of what appears to be a tree, and the sky. The background seen through the bubble looks inverted, as it should be. Quite an amazing concept if you ask me.

When I first looked at this painting, I thought that it was an artwork of planets in space. But I soon realized that they’re actually bubbles with a colorful background. This painting is quite soothing and aesthetic. It fills me with a sense of peace and serenity. As an artwork, it’s very well done, and could even be called a masterpiece. This is one of those paintings which I’d have hanging on my living room walls.

Majestic Painting of Bubbles with a Green Background

Majestic Painting of Bubbles with a Green Background

This painting by Carla is quite complex. It’s not that the bubbles have been painted with unicorn blood or anything like that. It’s just that this composition is quite striking, and as I’ve experienced firsthand, quite difficult to paint. It took me a really long time to wrap my head around the process. I did manage to pull it off, but it wasn’t nearly as good as this one. If you’re willing to take on the challenge, you should definitely give this a try.

Minimalistic Bubble Painting

Minimalistic Bubble Painting

If you’re a beginner in acrylic painting, this is probably the best place for you to start with. It’s a minimalistic approach to painting bubbles. The artist uses a black canvas for this purpose. The brush strokes are very smooth, resulting in an equally smooth texture on the bubbles. The painting doesn’t have much to offer in terms of detail, but is still quite nice to look at.
