How to Draw A Braid Step by Step

Step by Step Guide

Braids are very pretty. They look beautiful on any girl or boy. For many of you, drawing braids is just as difficult as making them in person. If that is the case, you can check out the way I draw braids. I follow a very simple process and keep things very straightforward. So by following my approach, even beginners can learn a thing or two.

Start with the basic outline. Add the strands and mark them properly. Add a ribbon or bow if you like. Then, simply color the braid, and you are done with the braid drawing.

Draw the basic outline

Draw it in the shape of a mango. Keep the lines curvy, and the edges round.

Attach the braid

Keep it long and hanging from the bottom of the outline.

Start drawing the hair

We will start by drawing the hair from the top left side of the paper.

Add some more

Add a bit of more hair.

Keep going

Continue drawing the hair.

Move downwards

Start working out the details on the braid.

Go on

Continue with the detailing on the braid.

Attach a bow

Draw a bow at the tail of the braid.

Keep going

You are almost done.

Final touches

Use a dark pencil for this.

Color

The drawing is ready. Now you just have to color it.
