How to Draw A Butterfly Step by Step

It is very easy to draw a butterfly. You do not need to bother with too many details and it is a fairly simple task. Most people struggle with drawing a butterfly because they cannot seem to tell where they are going wrong. However, once you know the right steps, you can draw a butterfly in the easiest way possible.

We start with the main body and then work on the wings. The only details you need to bother about are the designs on the wings. Also, the more clean and aesthetic your coloring is, the more beautiful your butterfly drawing will look.

Start with a carrot

We draw a small carrot shape in the middle of our canvas.

Add a wing

Draw the right wing of the butterfly.

Draw the other wing

Time to draw the wing on the right side of the butterfly.

Add some designs

Draw some curvy designs on the wings of the butterfly.

Add the antennas

Draw a couple of small antennas on the butterfly’s head.

Add some details

Use a light pencil to do the details on the body.

Some more designs

Add some more spiral shaped designs on the wings.

Add a few details on the designs

Keep going. You are doing great.

Add a cute face

Draw a smiling face on the head of the butterfly.

Almost done

Use a dark pencil to sharpen the outlines a bit.
