Cats are adorable. They have a very cute appeal to themselves. However, when you are trying to draw a cat, that cuteness is difficult to ensure. But if you follow the right techniques, and keep things relatively simple and straightforward, that cute looking cat drawing will turn out just the way you want it to.

To draw a cat, you first decide on a cute pose. Then, you take a top to bottom approach of drawing it, or in this case, a face to tail approach. Apart from the facial expressions, there is not much detailing to do. And within a few minutes, the cat drawing will be ready.

Start with the head and ears

The head is drawn circular, and the ears are a bit pointy.

Then the face

Draw the face and add whiskers.

Work out the body

The body is drawn with a light pencil in a sitting position.

Add some extra fur

Under the cat’s neck, draw a fluffy coat of fur.

Draw the tail

Give the cat a fluffy tail with the end drawn in a messy sort of way.

Details on the face

Draw the nose, mouth, and eyebrows of the cat with a light pencil.

Do the eyes

Draw a round pair of eyes.

Almost done

Give the eyes a cute look by partially shading it black.
