Christmas trees are not that difficult to draw. While I at first had problems with it, I eventually worked my way through many Christmas tree drawings to find out the most effective way of drawing them. The result of all this research led to my personal step by step approach for drawing a Christmas tree. And if you want, you too can follow this beginner’s level approach for drawing these trees.

To draw a Christmas tree, we follow a top to bottom approach. Start with a star that goes on the top of the tree, and then make your way downwards. Once the tree’s structure is ready, you add some lights for decorating it, and then color the tree. And you are done!

Start with a star

Use a light pencil to draw the star on the top of your page.

Move downwards

Draw the top part of the tree, below the star

Keep going down

Keep adding the lower parts of the tree

Finish the tree

Complete drawing all the leaves.

Start drawing the tub

Draw a rectangle shape under the tree.

Finish the pot

It is drawn in a trapezoid shape.

Add the strings

The strings will crisscross the tree. Draw it as you like.

Add the lights

Small circles are drawn on the strings which act as the lights.

You are almost there.

Final touches

A dark pencil is used to add some sharpness to the drawing.
