A dragon's head is a very complicated figure to draw. Even if you use a reference, you'll still find it difficult to replicate the entire drawing. However, if you can break the entire process down to a few steps, things can get easier for you. That's exactly what I do with my dragon head drawings. And if you want, you too can follow my approach and see if it helps.
To draw a dragon head, we start with the basic structure and then work out the facial expressions. We then add the smaller details and designs to make it look realistic. Finally, we add some final touches to our drawing and complete it.
Use a light pencil to give the dragon head a curvy facial structure.
Draw an ear on the right side of the dragon.
Repeat the process for the left ear.
Draw a smile on the dragon’s face.
The eyes are quarter-circles and drawn on both sides of the face.
The nose is wide and circular in shape.
Give the dragon some pointy teeth sticking out of its mouth.
Use a light pencil to draw a pair of pointy horns.
Add some scales and more horns to make the drawing look even better.
Almost done. Keep going!
Give your dragon head a nice coat of paint. Keep it simple and pretty.
