How to Draw A Flower Vase Step by Step

Step by Step Guide

Flower vases are very basic artwork taught to drawing students all around the world. If you are a drawing student, chances are that you too had to draw a flower vase at some point. However, drawing a flower vase is easier said than done. So in case you are having trouble with your flower vase drawing, I recommend that you give my process a quick look and try it out.

To draw a flower vase, we first draw the vase using a top to bottom approach. We then draw flowers inside the vase, and add some designs on it. Once the details are there, we simply color the vase and make it look beautiful.

Start with the top

Keep the top flat, like a very thin rectangle.

Draw the body

The neck of the vase is narrow, but the rest of it is pretty wide.

Add some leaves

Keep the leaves long and fine.

Design the vase

Start with a few small dots.

Keep going with the design

Turn the dots into flowers.

Start drawing the flowers

The flower is placed inside the vase and has its top sticking out.

Add another flower

Draw it similar to the first one.

Almost done

Use a dark pencil to make it look sharp.

Finish it

Add the final touches and get ready for coloring it.
