If you want to draw a gun but do not know where to start, I think I can help you out. I too have struggled with my gun drawings in the past, but I was so fascinated by them that I just kept on practicing till I got the perfect drawing technique. And if you like, you can take a look at the approach I follow to draw a gun and use it for your own artworks.

To draw a gun, we start with the handle and then proceed upwards to draw the rest of it. Then, we add all the smaller details to it before giving it a finishing touch. Finally, with the drawing done, we just need to go ahead and color it.

Start with the handle

Keep it small but wide bodied.

Draw the rest of it

Draw the rest of the gun’s body.

Start adding details

Use a light pencil to add all the small details.

Draw a double outline

Give the gun an inner outline.

Keep going

Continue working on the outlines.

Add some designs

Do these designs on the barrel first.

Keep working on the designs

You are doing great so far. Keep at it.

These design lines are drawn on the backside of the barrel.

Give the handle some grip

Add some lined texture to the handle.

Just a little more

Almost done, just a couple of more steps.

Final touches

Use a dark pencil to add the final touches.

Color it

Give the gun a two tone color, but keep it dark.
