How to Draw A Lion Face Step by Step

The lion has an aggressive face, but a very focused and calm one too. It is hard to have all these expressions in a single frame. But it is not impossible to do so. Do the outer mane first followed by the face itself. Add the facial features, and then color it.

Start from the left

Draw the mane from the left first.

Now the right

Repeat for the right.

Start working on the inner side

Draw a few curves to structure the face.

Work out the face

Give the face a complete structure now.

Add the ears

Keep them somewhat hidden in the mane.

Now the eyes

They are focused and looking straight.

Darken the outlines

Use a dark pencil for this.

Now the nose and mouth

You are almost done. Just a few more steps.

Keep it going

Add the whiskers now.

Final touches

Use a dark and sharp pencil for this.

Coloring time

Color to finish the drawing.
