How to Draw A Seahorse Step by Step

If you do not know how to draw a seahorse, do not worry. I will be glad to help you out with it. In the past, I too have struggled with my seahorse drawings, but over the years, I have matured enough to draw these magnificent sea creatures properly. And as long as you stick to the basics I show you, you will be fine, and can draw seahorses easily.

I draw the seahorse starting with the mouth. I then do the body in an S shape followed by the scales and the details. Finally, I use some light shades to color the drawing.

Start with the mouth

Use a light pencil. Draw it in the shape of a bone.

Now the top

It resembles the S shape.

Do the tail

The tail is curved and like a hook at the end.

Now the scales

The scales are running along the backside of the seahorse.

Next the wing

It is simple drawn pressed against the side of the body.

Mark the belly

A curve on the front side should do the trick.

Draw the details

Horizontal lines are drawn along the belly of the seahorse.

Place the eyes

The eyes are completely round.

Final touches

Do so with a dark pencil.

Coloring time

Drawing is done. Now you just have to color.
