How to Draw A Spider Step by Step

Step by Step Guide

I do not like spiders, but thanks to my drawing habits, I have learnt to draw them well enough. As anti climatic as it may sound, I am quite good at drawing spiders. And as long as you are comfortable with free hand drawing techniques, you too can draw them just fine. In case you do not know how, feel free to check out the steps I work with to draw a spider.

To draw a spider, I start with the small body. Then I work out the legs and cartoon like expressions. Finally, I get to the coloring to finish the drawing.

Start with the head

Draw a simple circle.

Now the body

Draw a smaller circle behind the head.

Do the eyes

The eyes are drawn oval in shape.

Next the teeth

Give the spider some pointy teeth.

Start drawing the legs

Do the ones on the right side of the paper first. Keep the legs long and a bit thin.

Now the other side

Repeat the process of drawing legs for the left side of the artwork.

Continue with the legs

This time we will be drawing the ones at the back.

Some more legs

Draw another pair of legs behind the last ones.

One last pair

You know what to do.

Draw the end part

Give it an egg like shape and keep it big.

Final touches

Use a dark pencil for these final touches.

Coloring time

Let us give the spider a natural look with some stunning colors.
