How to Draw A Sunflower Step by Step

Sunflowers are beautiful and I love to draw them. They make me smile for some reason, and I bet they make you feel the same way. Although I like drawing them, I was not good at it initially. But with some practice over time, I did manage to perfect these sunflower drawings. And if you are doubtful of your sunflower drawing skills, you can borrow some from me by following the approach I take to draw these magnificent flowers.

When you draw a sunflower, you always start from the center. Keep the petals pointy and wide. Draw the leaves big and sharp. When coloring, add at least a couple of shades of yellow with a bit of orange, and you are done with your sunflower drawing.

Start from the middle

Draw a small circle.

Now the petals

Draw some pointy petals that are wide near the bottom.

Go all the way around

Cover the circle with petals.

Few more at the back

These petals are in between the first ones.

Now the stalk

Keep the stalk long and thin.

Add leaves

Draw a couple of leaves on the stalk.

Almost done

Just a couple of more steps to go.

Finishing touches

Use a sharp pencil to add the last few touches.

Coloring time

Give the sunflower a nice shade of yellow.
